The Earldom of Kent was held by the 1st Marquess (and later 1st Duke) of Kent from 14 Nov 1706 until 5 Jun 1740, when on his death without a surviving male heir the Barony of Lucas of Crudwell and the Marquessate of Grey passed to his grand-daughter and coheiress, Lady Jemima Campbell, and all the other titles held by him became extinct.
