On the death of the 5th Earl of Derby the three Baronies of Stanley, Strange of Knokyn and Mohun of Dunster fell into abeyance between his three daughters. The abeyance in the Barony of Strange of Knokyn was terminated by Letters Patent, 23 Feb 1921, in favour of Elizabeth Frances, Viscountess St Davids, a descendant of the third daughter, Lady Elizabeth Hastings.
