died

23 Feb 1774 (bur. 2 Mar 1774 in Bath Abbey)

note

Sheriff of Yorkshire 1773-74

On the death of the 7th Baronet it appeared that the succession to the baronetcy passed to the American descendants of his first cousin once removed, William Wyvill (d. 1750). William's grandson, Marmaduke Wyvill, de jure 11th Baronet, died without male issue in 1808. No-one came forward from America to claim the Baronetcy, but there were male descendants of at least one of his two half-brothers. This line died out in 1971.  Assuming there are no further male heirs, then the claim to the Baronetcy would pass to the descendants of William Wyvill's younger brother Edward, who died in 1791.  This branch of the Wyvill family inherited the house and estate of Constable Burton, co. York, on the death of the 7th Baronet's half-sister in 1783.
