The Dukedom of Albany is regarded as being suspended - it is open to Prince Hubert Richard Ernest Edward Prinz von Sachsen-Coburg und Gotha, the grandson of Hereditary Prince John Leopold, to petition for restoration of the title if he should so wish. Prince Hubert is not the Head of the Ducal House of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha due his father's unequal marriage, but this would be no bar to his claim to the Dukedom of Albany.
