On the death of the 2nd Marquess of Breadalbane the Marquessate of Breadalbane and the other United Kingdom titles created in 1806 and 1831 became extinct, and the Earldom of Breadalbane and Holland and his other Scottish titles passed to his 4th cousin twice removed, John Alexander Gavin Campbell, who succeeded as 6th Earl of Breadalbane and Holland.
