in his will he made a special covenant that Audley End House, its contents and the attached estates, should pass to any Baron Braybrooke descending from his father, the 6th Baron, but if at any time a Baron Braybrooke in this line of descent should die without a son and male heir, then the house, its contents and the attached estates would pass to his only daughter, Hon Catherine Dorothy Neville and her descendants; the house was sold to the Ministry of Works for £30,000 in 1948 so this special covenant now only applies to the contents and the estates
